24 Oct SpeakerBox Pumpkin Carving Contest
For SpeakerBox, 2016 has been a year of many new things, including a new office that we share with our equally festive “roommates” White64. With so much room for activities, we’ve decided to start some new traditions. As a warm-up for our Halloween party on the 28th, we focused our creative energy on carving by holding our first annual pumpkin-carving contest.
From traditional jack-o-lanterns to one-of-a-kind creations, the outcome was nothing less than phenomenal.
See for yourself below:
While all of the pumpkins were a work of art, winners must be selected. Participants voted by ranking their top three favorites.
3rd place
Carver: LaVonnya Stevens
Arguably one of the happiest looking jack-o-lanterns, this Marilyn Monro-esque carving is a natural beauty and claimed the third place spot.
2nd place
Carver: Jose Banzon
Coined as the “Trumpkin,” Jose utilized the natural pigment of the pumpkin and other resources to replicate Donald Trump’s head – which was remarkably accurate in detail. And for that, the Trumpkin earned the second place spot – which if it could talk, would probably argue that the contest was rigged. #makepumpkinsgreatagain
1st place
Carver: Brandan Lickey
Fed up with sitting on porches night after night in the fall, my pumpkin took to the bottle. My pumpkin’s holiday spirit and tipsy demeanor landed it the number one spot – or maybe it was the fact that it was my birthday and the participants felt obligated to vote for me… but that’s neither here nor there.
Thanks to all who participated in the pumpkin-carving contest! We look forward to more celebrations and dressing up for the halloween party.
