28 Apr SBX is Growing!
We’re growing! 2015 started with a bang here at SpeakerBox thanks to a fantastic end of 2014 and roughly 30 percent growth over the past three quarters. Some of our new clients include Intel, Juniper Networks, and HighPoint Global.
Now we’re expanding to keep up.
We’ve hired two new staff members and are actively looking to bring on additional resources as well as new PR and digital marketing interns.
Michael Peterson joined us as an account coordinator. A former SBX intern and Virginia Tech Hokie, Michael’s experience includes marketing and communications for campus safety mobile app company LiveSafe and Commonwealth Joe.
We also recently hired Josh Schimel as a senior account director. Josh joins us from FleishmanHillard and brings over 10 years of B2B and B2G technology communications experience. At SpeakerBox, Josh will be leading account strategy and responsible for marketing and business development efforts at the firm.
Learn a little more about Michael and Josh in this Q&A on the important stuff:
What is your best (work appropriate) college memory?
Michael: I went spelunking sophomore year. I think it’s important to take yourself out of your comfort zone — getting a couple hundred yards in the earth got me out of mine in a hurry.
Josh: Long summer afternoons at the Union Terrace in Madison, Wisconsin drinking absurdly large Spotted Cow Beers from the Rathskeller!
What is your favorite TV series at the moment? Or, top two if you can’t decide.
Michael: Right now, Game of Thrones and Silicon Valley. Have you ever watched Sunday night programming on HBO? It’s spectacular.
Josh: The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones.
How do you spend your commute?
Michael: I mostly listen to music. Once in a while, I’ll stream podcasts; namely, WTF with Marc Maron and MATES…whatever keeps the blood pressure down.
Josh: Flipping between WTOP and music and trying to get caffeine into my system as quickly as possible.
Who are your teams?
Michael: The Washington Capitals and Ohio State University. I also follow tennis and CrossFit.
Josh: Redskins, Nationals, Wizards, Orioles, Badgers
What is the best vacation you’ve taken?
Michael: I went on a cruise up the North and Baltic Seas that went along Scandinavia before reaching St. Petersburg, Russia. It was awesome to see my homeland (Sweden) and be in weather more suited to my complexion (overcast).
Josh: Our honeymoon last year to Koh Samui and Chang Mai in Thailand was amazing.
