15 Jun Live from Red Hat Summit
This week, I have been working with the communications team at Red Hat’s annual partner and user conference, Red Hat Summit. Summit is an open source technology event that showcases the latest in cloud, platform virtualization, middleware, storage and more.
The conference had around 3,500 attendees this year and featured keynotes from industry leaders, technical and business sessions, hands-on labs and demos, as well as a fantastic band at the Thursday evening social event. SpeakerBox provided both on-site media relations and social media support – live tweeting keynotes and sessions – and providing additional hands on deck for any last minute logistical support. Red Hat released 25 announcements throughout the week, grabbing the attention of many top-tier outlets and creating a great deal of coverage.
The conference also included a session featuring industry journalists Sean Michael Kerner (Internet News), Scott Merill (TechCrunch) and Job Brodkin (Ars Technica). The panel of journalists discussed hot topics related to Linux, cloud computing, middleware, storage and more. The audience had some great questions based on what they had learned throughout the week and the panel provided lively and insightful answers to the hotly talked about topics.
The event was surely a weeklong celebration of Red Hat’s innovation in the open source arena and produced some amazing keynotes from industry leaders. For those of you unable to attend, all of the keynotes can be viewed online here: http://www.redhat.com/summit/. Additionally, below are some pictures that highlight this week’s events!
