Cristina Upston, Director of Human Resources

As Director of Human Resources at SpeakerBox Communications, Cristina manages benefit administration (health, dental, 401K, STD/LTD), employee on-boarding process, policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook, recruiting (candidate management, reference checking), and employee performance reviews.

Prior to her work at SpeakerBox, Cristina served as executive director of the Washington Independent Services for Educational Resources (WISER). At WISER, Cristina was responsible for coordination of board meetings and networking events, membership retention and renewal, financials, directory publishing, and website content. Previously, Cristina worked in HR and accounting for The Potomac School in McLean, VA where she managed payroll, benefits, school enrollment, and assisted with financial aid.

Cristina is a graduate of Connecticut College with a Bachelor of Arts major in Environmental Studies and minor in Italian Language. She also completed Centro di Cultura Italiana, an intensive course of study in Italian language and culture in Bologna, Italy.
